Another year older, but this year my birthday celebration was especially fun. I wanted to do something different, something other than dinner or cocktail bar. I was scrolling through Instagram and came across someone having Afternoon Tea, and ding ding ding- there it was- the perfect birthday plans!
I made a reservation for my girlfriends and me at The Beverly Hills Hotel for Afternoon Tea and Champagne! Tea time is traditionally British and normally consists of canapés- or tea sandwiches, pastries, and of course – tea. There are several places in LA that serve ‘High Tea’ or ‘Afternoon Tea’, but the Beverly Hills Hotel takes the cake. It is Hollywood glamour, luxurious, and gorgeous inside.
Our afternoon tea was full of British tradition. We started with champagne to celebrate, then enjoyed our canapés, then on to scones, and finally desert pastries. Of course, we were ale to squeeze in a Happy Birthday song and birthday cake 🙂
The canapés were bite sized and so delicious. We had curried chicken salad, smoked salmon mousse on pumpernickel, chicken and bacon in puff pastry, fig and blue cheese with caramelized onion on wheat, and cucumber on white bread. The pastries consisted of cream puffs, raspberry macaroons, fresh berry tarts, and a blueberry financiers. All the food was so good, and there was plenty, so I even got to take some home in a fancy to-go bag.
